I quickly panned a little to my left and quickly pressed the shutter release as the loon swam right in front of me before diving beneath the surface of Wildflower Lake

which was the west side and a beautiful sunrise to photograph

perhaps they just wanted a height advantage to the creek in hopes of seeing prey below

I didn't have far to hike to reach the west end of the park where there was an abundance of wildflowers along with a mist in front of the box elder trees that line the banks of Eakin Creek West
