Vintage Swaine & Adeney Leather Hunting Whip - w1731 dixon There would have been aThis whip probably started life as a gent's whip but could be carried by a man or a woman. It has an antler or staghorn handle. There is a silver button on the heel of the staghorn which is stamped "Swaine & Adeney, London". It has a silver collar with rolled edges, it has many dents and dings from use. It is hallmarked, the stamps are too rubbed to read. The collar is engraved "C. B. A. D." The shaft or stock is covered in dark brown braided leather.
