It does most of what a Fiend/Maggot does with their EtB effects and then it is better at staying in play, far better at blocking, enables raid, controls planeswalkers and is generally a pain in the arse
Cloudshift specifically returns the creature to the battlefield under your control, so the creature always enters under the control of the player who cast Cloudshift, where its no longer associated with the mind control effect that originally took it
While this may save time, its somewhat useless in best-of-one where theres no time limit, and in some cases, it may be better to tap the mana by yourself rather than having the bot do it, especially if you play more than two colors in your deck
