The Golden Rule: The One-Turn Wait This is the most important rule of evolution and a core balancing mechanic of the entire game: A Pokmon cannot be evolved on the same turn it is put into play
For example, Venomoth is a combination of venom and moth. Lickitung is a combination of lick and tongue. For example, a poison type fox Pokmon could be named Chemifox or Furmynx, while the flying thumbtack Pokmon might be named Shanx or Pointer. Some Pokmon are simply named after their attitude or central emotion
Its a good one too, allowing you to search your deck for up to three Stage 1 Pokmon, then reveal them and put them in your hand (dont forget to shuffle your deck after youve done so!)
New standard cards were also revealed, showcasing the deep integration of Final Fantasy lore into MTG mechanics: Choco, Seeker of Shangri-La (from Final Fantasy 9): A powerful Chocobo Commander card, surprising even Ichikawa, who noted its historical parallels with Magic: The Gatherings Birds of Paradise
